PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for Product Development, Innovation and Product Formulation
Analyze and prioritize new market product opportunities.
Develop and manage product pipeline.
Formulate products that conform to client specifications as well as industry best practices.
Work with Manufacturing and Quality Control during product testing and launch to ensure that product meets client expectations.
Create value through analysis, formulation and reformulation of client products.
Focus on continuous product improvement.
Implement Effective Sales Process and Programs that Drive Revenues
Develop and manage strategic account plans and execute against sales objectives, margin goals, and overall business strategy.
Maintain an accurate sales pipeline within our CRM system (and⁄or other internal systems) and create forecasts comparing revenue sold compared to quota goals.
Develop and participate in firm-wide sales activities including focused sales campaigns.
Deliver against quota and client satisfaction goals.
Prepare and deliver documents such as bids, quotes, RFP’s, and SOW’s accurately and timely.
Identifying customer requirements and specifications.
Build and Manage Customer Relationships that Support Continued Growth
Develop client relationships throughout the organization in each pertinent area of the business.
Market company capabilities to established and prospective clients, prime contractors, and partners.
Perform strategic account reviews with team to identify and target practice area specific opportunities.
Familiarize established accounts with our products, services, and thought leadership materials.
Identify potential business opportunities and negotiates agreements in conjunction with management team.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Answer client’s technical questions regarding product characteristics, dosage, and side effects.
Develop and Implement Marketing Programs that Create New Opportunities for Growth
Stay well informed of industry changes, participate where possible in professional organizations directly involved with our prime markets, and continually works to improve sales techniques and knowledge.
Represent the company at selected tradeshows, workshops, conferences, seminars, and other meetings and makes verbal presentations as required.
Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
DVM required.
10+ years experience in the animal health business.
5+ years experience in business development ⁄ sales.
Understanding of animal nutrition and pharmaceuticals is required.
Prior experience formulating animal health products is required.
Prior experience in an animal health manufacturing or industrial setting is required.
Experience in animal health product development is required.
Must have equine experience.
Excellent communication (verbal, written and presentation) and leadership skills required.
Senior level client relationship skills including experience in negotiations and articulating complex solutions and benefits.
Above average ability to use the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); email software such as Outlook and lead and sales tracking software.
Experience in developing marketing materials is a plus.
Experience developing strategies for new products ⁄ extensions, joint ventures, alliances and acquisitions.
Understanding of the contract manufacturing business as it relates to the animal health industry is a plus.
Understanding FDA, EPA, AAFCO & state rules and regulations as it relates to the animal health industry is a plus.
Travel up to 25%.
Ability to interpret financial information and manage profitability.
Ability to manage and monitor sales pipeline.
Experience in feed and supplement manufacturing pellets, powder, extrusions, tablets and capsules is a plus.
Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
Relationships with key industry leaders and stakeholders.
