The Assistant Director will report directly to the Executive Director of a local non-profit agency, and will manage the non-profit in the areas of fundraising⁄development, the board of directors, and oversee program administration.
Areas of Responsibility
Fundraising⁄Development
Assist the Executive Director in the design and implementation of annual and long-range strategic plan.
Manage the fundraising and development for the program
Identify, cultivate and solicit donors and sponsors.
Identify and solicit grants and other sources of revenue
Cultivate community relationships
Oversee planning and management of fundraising events
Develop and manage budget
Solicit event sponsorships
Secure in-kind donations
Solicit ticket sales
Work with designer and printer to create marketing pieces
Coordinate with Public Relations and Community Relations Departments
Coordinate with event facility
Coordinate with outside vendors
Oversee the recruiting and managing of volunteers
Oversee event management the day of the event
Board of Directors
Clearly define and document board related tasks and commitments and ensure follow-through
Act as a liaison between Executive Director and Board of Directors, handling all board communication
Schedule and plan board meetings
Recruit new board members
Program Administration
Oversee administration of activities
includes insurance, facilities, personnel and volunteers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years experience as Director or Assistant Director of non-profit organization
Possess exemplary writing and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated success in fundraising and development
Experience with management of board of directors
Experience in management of fundraising events raising over $100,000
