Your role with the company
The Corporate Controller must be one of a strategic thinker with experience handling multiple entities under the corporate umbrella. You will oversee daily operations of the Finance⁄Accounting department and lead the accounting staff to reach department goals. Make sure all financial information is reported and understood by the Executive management team and participate as one of the members of the Executive management team.
Preferred Experience and Skills
Maintain, reconcile, analyze and summarize general ledger accounts
Oversee daily invoices for accuracy
Monitor and maintain accounts payable and receivable
Oversee bank reconciliation
Oversee payroll and billing
Monitoring and management of the company’s line of credit
Supervise Accounting Department Staff (A⁄P and A⁄R)
Develop & monitor cash flow weekly
Monthly inventory adjustment & reconciliation
Monitor & audit physical inventory
Complete and submit Sales & Use Tax Returns
Manage the preparation of financial budgets and financial forecasts
Timely preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements
Review financial data with senior management monthly
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
Perform standard cost variance analysis
Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment
Work on special projects as needed
Interact effectively with vendor and other external constituencies
Maintain customer and vendor relationships
Work with credit card merchant services to ensure timely and cost efficient processing
Work with outside CPA for tax planning
Prepare fiscal year end work papers for outside CPA
Develop capabilities of Accounting Department and team
Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements
Establish and implement financial best practices
Bachelor’s degree in Finance⁄Accounting required
CPA and masters degree desired
5-10 years in upper-level finance or accounting position
Accounting experience in Manufacturing setting is required
Experience with QuickBooks desired
Experience in Manufacturing; pharmaceutical industry a +
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product line profitability analysis
Ability to do Activity Based Costing (ABC)
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
Advanced skills in Excel with ability to manipulate, import, and analyze data
